Social Code is run by Shavon "Anton" Rowe in Nevada, USA. This policy covers joinsocialcode.com, app.joinsocialcode.com, our emails and our products. It explains what we collect, why, who helps us run things, and what you can do about it. Questions go to anton@joinsocialcode.com.
What We Collect
What you give us
- Your first name and email: when you ask for your free map after the friendship check, sign up in the practice studio, join the newsletter or a release list, or buy something.
- Your friendship check result: which part of Stranger to Friend you stall at, when you ask for your map. Your answers to the nine questions stay on your device.
- What you type in the practice studio: your messages to your practice partner, so it can answer you. We don't save these conversations.
- Comments: the name and comment you post on a Journal article. Comments show publicly after Anton approves them.
- Purchases: when you buy the playbook, Kit runs the checkout. We get your name, email and what you bought. We never see your full card number.
- Coaching: if you work with Anton directly, what you share in sessions and in the client portal, like your goals, session notes, tasks and messages.
- The earlier assessment: if you took the connection-pattern assessment before it was retired, your answers and result.
What's collected automatically
- Analytics: Vercel Analytics counts page views and clicks so we can see what's working. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't follow you to other sites.
- On your device: the app uses your browser's local storage to remember your check result, your practice progress and that you already signed up. That stays on your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.
- Abuse protection: we use your IP address for a short time to stop spam and abuse. We store it only as a scrambled code, never as the address itself.
- Fonts: our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, and Google may log your IP address when that happens.
How We Use It
- To send what you asked for: your map, your results, the playbook and the practice emails.
- To send you emails about Social Code, including one practice moment a week and news about products like the playbook. You can unsubscribe anytime.
- To run the practice studio and the friendship check.
- To plan and run coaching sessions, if you're a coaching client.
- To fix problems, stop abuse and improve what we make.
- To follow the law, like keeping records of sales.
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for advertising.
Who Helps Us
These services handle information for us, only to do their job:
- Kit: our email list, newsletter, and the playbook's checkout and delivery. Kit uses Stripe to process payments. Kit's privacy policy.
- Resend: sends the app's emails, like your map. Resend's privacy policy.
- Supabase: our database. Supabase's privacy policy.
- Vercel: hosts our sites and runs the analytics. Vercel's privacy policy.
- OpenAI: writes your practice partner's replies in the practice studio. Your messages go to OpenAI to create each reply. OpenAI's privacy policy.
- Anthropic: helps Anton draft coaching session plans from a client's notes. Only used for coaching clients. Anthropic's privacy policy.
- Google Fonts: serves the fonts on our pages. Google's privacy policy.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
How Long We Keep It
- Email list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you. After you unsubscribe, we keep only what we need to make sure you don't get emailed again.
- Check results: with your email record, for as long as you're on the list.
- Practice studio messages: we don't keep them. OpenAI may hold them for a limited time under its own policy.
- Purchases: as long as tax and accounting rules require.
- Coaching records: while we work together and for a reasonable time after, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Comments: until they're removed.
Your Rights
- Unsubscribe: every email has an unsubscribe link, or use app.joinsocialcode.com/unsubscribe.
- See, fix or delete your information: email anton@joinsocialcode.com and we'll do it within 30 days.
Some places, like California, the EU and the UK, give you these rights by law. We give them to everyone, wherever you live.
Cookies
We don't use tracking or advertising cookies. Our analytics are cookieless. The only cookies we set are for signing in to the client portal and Anton's admin pages.
Children
Social Code is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, or under 16 in the EU and UK. If you think a child gave us their information, email anton@joinsocialcode.com and we'll delete it.
Security
We use secure connections, limit who can get into our systems, and only keep what we need. No system is perfect, so we can't promise nothing will ever go wrong. If something does, we'll tell you when the law requires it.
Where Your Data Lives
Social Code is based in the United States, and the services we use mostly store data in the United States. If you use Social Code from another country, your information will be handled in the United States.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If it's a big change, we'll email the list too.
